Meet Our Team
Building Blocks Pediatrics offers individualized therapy for infants, children and adolescents, recognizing their unique developmental needs. Our dedicated team of master’s and doctorate-level therapists, registered and licensed in the state of Georgia, provides comprehensive family-focused therapy in a nurturing environment.
Erin Patrick
Erin graduated from the University of Georgia in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sports Science (Go Dawgs!). In 2002, she went on to complete a Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from Brenau University. Her passion, experiences and commitment to the pediatric therapy arena led her to founding Building Blocks Pediatrics in 2008.
Erin has worked in various settings including, hospitals both inpatient and outpatient, schools, home health and private practice. Erin has experience working with children of all ages and abilities including, sensory processing disorders, neurological and genetic disorders, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, hypotonicity, developmental delays and fine motor/visual motor delays.
Erin has training in numerous areas including neurodevelopmental treatment (NDT), sensory integration, and therapeutic listening.
Erin is a current member of the American Occupational Therapy Association and is a licensed and registered Occupational Therapist in the state of Georgia.
Dino Bylos
In 2016, Dino was inspired to be part of such a meaningful endeavor after recognizing the tremendous amount of Goodwill created in the community by Erin and the BBP team of therapists over the years. A CPA by profession, Dino brings a wealth of experience from his tenure at Deloitte and Barclays Bank, as well as his ventures in the food, hospitality and software industries. He ensures the smooth running of the day to day back of house activities. He gets a real kick from the kiddos coming by his office to say, “hello to Mr. Dino!”
Dino resides in Marietta, GA with his wife Kathy and has three “grown up kids.” His twin son and daughter graduated from Georgia Tech, making him a Yellow Jacket for life! In his spare time, Dino enjoys travelling, gastronomy, going to the gym and watching a variety of sports, with a strong emphasis on Georgia based teams!
Occupational Therapy
Erin Millinoff, MS, OTR/L, ATRIC
Erin is a licensed Occupational Therapist with a master's degree and holds a bachelor's in Family and Child Sciences with a focus on Developmental Disabilities from Florida State University.
Erin attained her Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Florida Gulf Coast University, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Upon relocating to Atlanta, she gained experience at a private pediatric clinic, specializing in developmental delay, Autism Spectrum Disorder, motor disorders, cognitive disabilities, genetic disorders, and sensory processing.
Erin is also certified in Aquatic Occupational Therapy through ATRI.Outside of work, she cherishes time with loved ones, exploring new eateries, and hiking with her dog, Obie, in North Georgia.
Rebecca Ahrens M.S., OTR/L
Rebecca is a registered and licensed Master’s level Occupational Therapist. Rebecca received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Youth Development Programs from Clemson University. She then went on to earn her Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Florida Gulf Coast University.
Rebecca grew up in Kennesaw and moved back to the Atlanta area after graduate school. Rebecca was previously involved in research focused on the impact of parent-child relationships on development and led community playgroups in partnership with the Early Intervention services offered in Southwest Florida. Rebecca has worked as a preschool teacher and has experience working with children of all ages and abilities. Rebecca works with children with Autism, ADHD, developmental delays, Down Syndrome, and genetic disorders.
In her free time, Rebecca enjoys spending time with her friends, family, and dog Miller. She loves exploring the Atlanta area, reading, and DIY projects.
Sarah Gingrich, MHS, OTR/L
Sarah, a board-certified OT with a master's degree, found her passion for OT through diverse volunteer and study-abroad experiences aiding individuals with disabilities, both children and adults, globally and locally.
Sarah, who returned to Building Blocks in 2021 after working as an OT in Charlotte, NC, graduated summa cum laude from the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and earned a master’s degree in occupational therapy from the Medical College of Georgia.
With extensive clinical experience in pediatric and adult orthopedic and neurological conditions, Sarah specializes in pediatric hemiplegia treatment and constraint-induced movement therapy. She employs diverse modalities such as Handwriting Without Tears and sensory integration, and has advanced training in feeding approaches like the Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) Approach.
Sarah's passion for helping children achieve their potential extends beyond therapy as she serves as Vice President of Little Flower Catholic Therapy Missions, providing caregiver training and wheelchair donations in at-risk countries. In her leisure time, she indulges in painting, dance, and cooking.
Arden Mobley Hennessy, MHS, OTR/L
Arden, a registered and licensed Master’s level Occupational Therapist, earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Human Development and Family Science from the University of Georgia.
During her time at the University of Georgia, Arden volunteered with Young Life and Extra Special People, as well as organizations like Children’s Miracle Network and Relay for Life. She interned at Camp Twin Lakes, assisting children with various medical conditions and those in foster care.
Arden pursued her Master’s of Health Science in Occupational Therapy at Augusta University, where she served on the student government board and volunteered with Steps of Grace, teaching ballet to children with disabilities. With clinical experience in orthopedic and neurological settings in Atlanta and Chattanooga, Arden has worked with children with a wide range of conditions, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, and genetic disorders.
Outside of work, she enjoys volunteering with her church, traveling, and spending time outdoors with family and friends.
Rachel Kohler, MS, OTR/L
Rachel is a licensed Master’s level Occupational Therapist, having earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Biology from Springfield College in Massachusetts.
After completing her Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Florida Gulf Coast University, Rachel moved to Atlanta from Florida, where she worked as a pediatric outpatient OT.
She brings experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, ADHD, genetic disorders, sensory processing disorder, and motor processing delays.
Rachel enjoys her recreational moments by exploring new places in ATL, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
Tempie Ennis, MS, OTR/L
Tempie is a licensed Master’s level Occupational Therapist with a Bachelor’s of Science in health care management from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Alabama.
After earning her Master’s of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Tempie completed her Level II fieldwork in Rome, GA, at Advanced for Kids.
There, she evaluated and treated children with a variety of conditions including Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, ADHD, and sensory processing disorders.
In her free time, Tempie enjoys outdoor walks, reading, spending time with loved ones, and volunteering at her church.
Anna Hicks, MS, OTR/L
Anna, a licensed Master-level Occupational Therapist, earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Health Education with a concentration in Exercise Science and a minor in English from Georgia College and State University.
Anna holds a Master of Science degree in occupational therapy from Georgia State University. With clinical experience in various pediatric settings including schools, daycares, outpatient clinics, and homes, she is dedicated to play-centered therapy and empowering families with tailored support.
Anna utilizes diverse approaches like the DIR/Floortime Model, Zones of Regulation, and sensory integration, recognizing each child's uniqueness. She has worked with children with ADHD, Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and developmental delays.
Outside work, Anna enjoys tennis, yoga, and spending time with her cat Hallie and husband. She is excited to join the team at Building Blocks Pediatrics.
Emalyn Brumby, MS, OTR/L
Emalyn, a licensed Master’s level Occupational Therapist, earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Mercer University and her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
During her studies, Emalyn volunteered at Camp Alabama’s Special Camp for Children and Adults ( ASCCA) and The Horizons School, gaining valuable experience. She completed her Level II fieldwork at Emory and KidsPlay Therapy before working in outpatient pediatrics at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
With experience in Autism, Down Syndrome, and more, Emalyn is passionate about helping children thrive.
In her leisure time, she enjoys traveling, lake outings with loved ones, and volunteering at GiGi's Playhouse.
Allison Rosenfield, MS, OTR/L
Allison, an Occupational Therapist, brings expertise from both clinical and home settings, graduating with a Master's in Occupational Therapy from the University of South Alabama in 2013.
Allison, an active member of the Georgia Occupational Therapy Association, delights in assisting children of all ages and abilities, guiding them to overcome challenges in their daily routines.
With specialized training in Astronaut training and therapeutic listening, she is dedicated to ensuring each child receives tailored care for a brighter future.
In her free time, Allison cherishes moments with loved ones, enjoys exercise classes, and appreciates a good movie.
Speech Therapy
Stephanie Stock M.A., CCC-SLP
Stephanie is a certified Speech-Language Pathologist who earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders, as well as a Master’s of Arts degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Florida.
While attending the University of Florida, Stephanie sought out an independent study at UF’s Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD). This experience furthered her knowledge of working with children (and families) with Autism. Stephanie has extensive training on the Social Communication Emotional Regulation and Transactional Supports (SCERTS) model, a model aimed at building communication skills in children with Autism. Stephanie has experience working with children, ages 2 to 18, in the following areas: Articulation and Phonology, Fluency (Stuttering), Early Childhood Language Disorders, Expressive and Receptive Language Delays and Disorders, Autism, Social Language Skills and Down Syndrome. Stephanie takes pride in the relationships she forms with families as she supports them in the growth of their child's communication.
Stephanie is a proud SLP! When not working, this native Floridian enjoys exploring Georgia’s many sights, attending speech therapy conventions and cheering on the Florida Gators!
Amanda van Staden, MS, CCC-SLP
Amanda van Staden M.S; CCC-SLP is a certified Speech Language Pathologist with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Georgia.
After earning her Bachelor's, she pursued her Masters in Communicative Disorders at the University of Alabama. During her studies, Amanda gained experience in early intervention, outpatient rehab, and public schools. Back in Atlanta, she worked with students with various speech and language disorders, orthopedic impairments, and Autism Spectrum Disorder in schools and clinics.
Certified in the Beckman Oral Motor Evaluation and The Lidcombe Program, she focuses on developmental language delays, articulation disorders, and fluency issues.
When at leisure, Amanda enjoys outdoor activities with her dogs and supporting her favorite sports teams.
Elena Kimbrough, MCD, CCC-SLP
Elena Kimbrough, MCD,
CCC-SLP, holds a bachelor’s in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Bob Jones University and a master’s in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of South Carolina.
Elena began her career as a speech-language pathologist assistant with Gwinnett County Public Schools while pursuing her master’s degree. She later transitioned to a speech-language pathologist role, holding national certification through ASHA (American Speech Language Hearing Association) and a Georgia State License.
Elena's expertise spans various communication needs in children, including expressive and receptive language disorders, apraxia of speech, stuttering, and more. She prioritizes family-centered therapy and values collaboration with parents to ensure effective treatment.
To unwind Elena prefers hiking, playing music, and spending time with her family and pets.
Juliana White Brehm, M.Ed., CCC-SLP
Juliana earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communicative Disorders from the University of Alabama.
Juliana pursued her Master of Education in Speech-Language Pathology at Valdosta State University. With extensive clinical experience spanning various settings, she evaluates, diagnoses, and treats both pediatric and adult clients.
She is committed to ongoing education in feeding skills, articulation/phonology, and PROMPT training. Her specialties include articulation/phonology, language disorders, cleft palate/resonance disorders, childhood apraxia of speech, early language development, pragmatic/communication language disorders, and sensory-based feeding issues.
In her free time she loves cooking, exploring new dining experiences and cuisine and traveling.
Anna White, M.Ed., CCC-SLP
Anna earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Speech Language Pathology from Valdosta State University.
Certified in the Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) Approach to Feeding, she has been working with children since 2008, offering her expertise across clinic, public school, and hospital settings.
She has experience helping children with a variety of disorders involving articulation and phonological disorders, language disorders, receptive/expressive language disorders, voice disorders, fluency, autism spectrum disorders, Down Syndrome, hearing impairments, visual impairments, traumatic brain injury, cerebral palsy, feeding and AAC.
Anna finds profound fulfillment in witnessing children make strides towards achieving their goals, receiving heartfelt appreciation for her guidance along their developmental journey.
Laura Kinney Pearce, M.S., CCC-SLP
I love being a part of a child's journey in communication and am so grateful for the parents who entrust me with this great responsibility. Helping children find their voices and giving them the confidence and tools to communicate with the world around them is such a privilege and I can't believe I get to do this for my job.
Laura received her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance at Carson-Newman University and went on to pursue her Master of Science in Speech Language Pathology at Appalachian State University. She has worked in a variety of settings ranging from pediatric outpatient services, elementary schools, and to private practices. Her specialties include: AAC, Autism, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, Fluency, Safety Care (behavior management), and Pediatric Feeding Disorders. She has completed extensive continuing education in Pediatric Feeding (Feed the Peds; SOS Approach), is PROMPT trained, and LAMP trained. She has supervised many graduate students and Clinical Fellows pursuing degrees in Speech Language Pathology and enjoys providing mentorship to her future colleagues.
In addition to her experience as a Speech Language Pathologist, Laura spent 3 seasons as a performer at Dollywood Theme Park in Pigeon Forge. She worked closely with Dolly Parton's Imagination Library in the Imagination Playhouse which encourages early literacy by bringing books from the page to the stage.
In her free time, she enjoys traveling, spending time with her rescue Chihuahua Felicity, staying active through pilates and cycle classes, and trying new restaurants and activities in the Atlanta area.
Kaylee Petro, M.S., CCC-SLP
Speech-Language Pathologist
Kaylee is an ASHA certified Speech-Language Pathologist and a California native. She attended California State University Fullerton where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She worked as a speech language pathology assistant for eight years before returning to school at Nova Southeastern University for her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology.
Kaylee’s clinical experience includes treatment, evaluation, and diagnostics for the pediatric population in outpatient and school settings. She has worked with toddlers, children and adolescents with varying communication needs including autism spectrum disorder, expressive and receptive language disorders, articulation and phonological disorders, Down Syndrome, cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury, childhood apraxia of speech and intellectual disability.
Kaylee is caring, energetic and believes in providing a motivating and fun environment for her patients. She believes in collaboration with families to support the patient in their individual needs and prides herself in providing the highest quality of services to encourage patients to meet their full potential.
In her free time, Kaylee enjoys reading, music, and spending time with her husband, daughter, and yellow lab Benny exploring their new home in Georgia.
Physical Therapy
Colleen Simon, PT
Colleen Simon, PT, obtained her Bachelor’s of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Florida before moving to Atlanta from Jacksonville, FL in 2000 with her family.
With a vast experience spanning various pediatric diagnoses from birth through age 21, Colleen specializes in Torticollis, Hypotonia, Gross Motor Delay, and Orthopedic conditions. She is also proficient in Spanish.
Colleen finds immense joy in assisting children as they take their first steps, cherishing moments of progress.
When not working, she enjoys following Gator sports, traveling, and spending quality time with her loved ones and pets.
Lindsay Deere, PT
Lindsay graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelor of Health Science Degree-Physical Therapy.
Lindsay found her passion for pediatric physical therapy at Shriners Hospital for Children-St. Louis, where she treated diverse diagnoses including CP, myelomeningocele, developmental delay, orthopedic issues, and metabolic bone diseases.
Since relocating to Atlanta with her family in 2017, Lindsay has continued her work in pediatric outpatient and public school settings.
In her spare time, she relishes family moments, outdoor activities, and yoga practice!
Morgan Scott, PT, DPT
Morgan Scott, PT, DPT, graduated from Mercer University and received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
Morgan completed her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Alabama in Huntsville while playing volleyball collegiately, majoring in Kinesiology with a minor in Biological Sciences.
Passionate about pediatric care, Morgan brings experience from outpatient settings, treating various neurologic and musculoskeletal conditions like Torticollis, Cerebral Palsy, and gross motor delay. She emphasizes parental involvement, believing it's crucial for a child's progress. What she loves most about her work is witnessing children achieve their goals.
During her free time, Morgan enjoys staying active and social, cheering for Auburn football, and spending time with loved ones, including her pup, Roscoe!
Administration
Monica Strasen
Monica holds a degree in Business Management and Finance and boasts over two decades of experience in the field.
Furthermore, she possesses a decade of specialized experience in insurance billing for pediatric therapists. With proficiency in managing private insurance and Georgia Health Partnership Programs, her insights are invaluable.
Monica's personal experience raising two children with special needs offers a distinct viewpoint. She resides in the Greater Atlanta Area with her husband and two young sons.
Petula Giotis
Petula has a Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration
Petula has dedicated her entire career to healthcare. While she recently shifted her focus to medical billing, working with children adds an extra layer of fulfillment to her work.
In her free time, Petula cherishes moments with her four children, three of whom are on the autism spectrum, along with her two beloved cats.
Sharon Nowik
Sharon joined the Building Blocks Pediatric team in 2021 after spending over 25 years in the healthcare industry. She has a bachelor’s degree in Consumer Studies from Penn State University and moved to the Atlanta area in 2005. She enjoys being able to help others by making them feel comfortable in any situation and is especially thankful for the opportunity to work in an environment that helps children and their families.
Sharon has 3 daughters, 3 grandchildren, a rescue dog, and a cat. She can be found around the house with the animals, in the garden, or just out enjoying time with friends and family.
Laura Martin
Laura Martin joined the Building Blocks Pediatrics office staff in June of 2024 after spending the past twenty years working in the front office at a local dermatology office. Laura brings a high level of efficiency and organization to her position, as well as a heart for patient care.
Laura and her husband, David, have been married 32 years and have two adult children. In her spare time, Laura likes to go bird watching and spend time with her family.
